What you'll receive

You will receive a $5,000 cash bursary to support your travel and living expenses associated with your professional experience (PEX) placement.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be a final year Bachelor of Education student (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary courses) or a final year Master of Teaching student (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary).  This includes students enrolled either full-time or part-time
  • be enrolling in your first attempt of your PEX placement in Semester 2, 2024
    • consideration will be given to students out of step in their study program and enrolling in their final PEX placement in Semester 2, 2024.
  • be undertaking your PEX placement within 200 kilometres of Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville or Cairns
    • the placement location must not be your usual place of residence.
  • have a minimum 5.0 GPA.

Previous recipients are not eligible to apply again.

Ensure that you have also completed all documentation required to confirm your interest in a rural, regional or remote placement through the Professional Experience Coordinator.

What happens next?

There are three bursaries available to be awarded.

A selection panel will meet to determine the highest-ranking applicants.  An interview will be required of shortlisted applicants.
