What you'll receive
You'll receive a scholarship valued at $5,000 paid in two instalments:
- an initial payment of $2,500 on being awarded the scholarship through the selection process
- a second payment of $2,500 in Semester 2, following a review of your academic performance from Semester 1. Eligible payments will be made after the census date.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be enrolled in the Bachelor of Justice (JS34) or any double degree incorporating the Bachelor of Justice
- have completed at least 96 credit points of the Bachelor of Justice
- be a full-time student
- show evidence of desire to work in community policing or youth justice
- demonstrate a drive to make a difference to local communities
- have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people living within communities in differing situations.
Preference may be given to an applicant who is female and/or demonstrates an intention for a career in the police service and, in particular, wants to work in a rural, remote or regional community in Queensland.
One scholarship is available to be awarded.

What happens next?
A selection panel will meet to determine the successful applicant based on the eligibility criteria. If shortlisted, you may be required to attend an interview.
If successful, you'll be notified by email.

About the scholarship
This scholarship is awarded in memory of Constable Rachel McCrow. You must have:
- the desire to work in community policing after graduation
- an empathetic drive to make a difference
- an interest in youth justice.
