What you'll receive

You'll receive a scholarship valued at $10,000 per year for up to four years, paid in two instalments of $5,000 each year.

Internships and mentoring opportunities may also be offered.

This scholarship is offered in Semester 1, 2025 only.

Eligibility

You must be one of the following:

  • an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
  • a permanent resident of Australia
  • a permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • a New Zealand citizen.

You must also be:

  • from a low-income background
  • experiencing financial hardship
  • enrolled in or applying for an undergraduate course (including double degrees) within the areas of science, business, marketing, communications, engineering, data science, information technology, or health and safety
  • a female
  • enrolled full-time for the duration of the course.

This scholarship is not available to:

  • single-unit study students - studying an individual unit at QUT, but not enrolled in a QUT course
  • cross-institutional students - enrolled in a course at another university, but studying specific units at QUT and receiving credit towards your course at the other university
  • QUT College students - studying one of the pathway programs offered by our international college, including foundation courses, university diplomas and English language courses.

What happens next?

All applications are assessed against selection criteria. We allocate scholarships based on need. Students with the greatest need will receive the highest value scholarships.

About the scholarship

SAMCo will support a female student, who also qualifies for financial-need support, through the duration of their QUT undergraduate course (up to four years). This scholarship encourages women to pursue a career within the renewable energy sector, and to increase gender diversity within the industry.
