What you'll receive
You’ll receive a scholarship valued at $30,000.
The scholarship will be paid as a stipend in six instalments of $5,000 per semester for up to three (3) year ($10,000 per year), following confirmation of your enrolment after the census date of each semester, commencing Semester 1, 2025.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
- be enrolled as a full-time student at QUT (36 credit points or more per semester)
- have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.5 or above.
You must be undertaking full-time study entering your second, third, fourth or final year in Semester 1, 2025, completed 96 credit points if in a single degree and 192 credit points for a double degree, in one of the following courses:
- EN01 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Electrical)
- EN01 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechatronics)
- EV03 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Renewable Energy
- IX59 Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
- SE40 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Mathematics
- SE60 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Information Technology
- SE80 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Science.
How to apply
You need to complete and submit the online application form by Tuesday, 11 March 2025.
Your application should include the following attachments:
- a copy of your academic record from HiQ site
- a copy of your resume / curriculum vitae (CV)
- a written response to the selection criteria.
What happens next?
The successful scholarship recipient will be selected based on their written responses in the application form.
Conditions
Indigenous Australian applicants that have not previously verified their Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Descent with the QUT Oodgeroo Unit and are applying for an identified scholarship, must also complete the Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Descent (CATSID) process to confirm eligibility.

The K-BIK Power Scholarship for Indigenous Engineers reflects a commitment to reconciliation by fostering meaningful engagement with Indigenous Australian students in engineering. The scholarship aims to support and empower Indigenous students, integrating their engineering education with a respect for cultural knowledge and connection to Country.
K-BIK Power believes that increasing Indigenous participation in engineering is essential for creating innovative solutions that are informed by Indigenous perspectives and values.
