What you'll receive
- You’ll receive a stipend of $41,650 per annum for a maximum duration of 3.5 year while undertaking a QUT PhD. This is the full-time, tax-exempt rate.
- In addition to the stipend, the scholarship provides for an annual training budget of $5,000 and a total travel budget of $5,000.
- You will receive a tuition fee offset/sponsorship, covering the cost of your tuition fees for the first four full-time equivalent years of your doctoral studies.
- As the scholarship recipient, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of leading researchers, to undertake your own innovative research in and across the field.
- This scholarship is part of a Next Generation Graduates Program grant, which means that your study will be linked to an industry partner. This will provide you with more real-world focus in your research and opportunity to engage closely with the industry partner.
Eligibility
- You need to meet the entry requirements for a QUT Doctor of Philosophy, including any English language requirements.
- Enrol as a full-time, internal student (unless approval for part-time and/or external study is obtained).
- You must commence your degree by 1 September 2025.
- Have demonstrated experience in one of these areas:
- privacy-preserving technologies
- cybersecurity
- machine learning.
How to apply
Apply for this scholarship at the same time you apply for admission to a QUT Doctor of Philosophy.
- The first step is to email Professor Raja Jurdak detailing your academic and research background, your motivation to research in this field and interest in this scholarship, and include your CV.
- If supported to apply, you will then submit an expression of interest (EOI) following the advice at how to apply for a research degree.
- Ensure you include in your EOI, the proposed principal supervisor that we advised in our email and copy the link to this scholarship website into question two of the financial details section.
About the scholarship
This scholarship is part of our funded program to train the next generation graduates in trusted automation for industrial Internet of Things through a close partnership between industry and academia. Being at the intersection of three emerging technologies with the potential to transform how we live and work, this program offers students unique opportunities to gain skills that are highly relevant for industry.
Students will work on applied research projects, where the research problem is inspired by real world problems that industry partners are facing. The available scholarship is supported by Xippy.
