Real-world leadership
‘While I studied a Master of Project Management at QUT, there was a position open at Wagners to work for the Cross River Rail Tunnel Segments Project as quality control inspector. Once I finished my studies, Wagners offered me the opportunity to be a project manager for them, which was the perfect time to apply what I learnt at QUT. I’m so grateful that QUT led me to this opportunity and connected me with the PMI Queensland chapter which has been the best place for me to learn from the project management community in Queensland.’
Sustainable real-world projects
'QUT really is a university for the real world. The assignments and case studies part of the curriculum all related to real life scenarios and teaching us how to resolve them. For example, I worked on a medical project pertaining to market studies on 3D printed cardiovascular stents. Sustainability was one of the key aspects of our project as we had to provide a management solution to develop and bring to existence a sustainable, economical and functional stent. I worked with professors who were passionate too in bringing this technology to the market.'
Build your portfolio
'The fabrication workshop experience was amazing! Everyone in the workshops were so helpful and friendly. I was impressed with all the varied resources we can use to develop our models and ideas. The models were used to study and explore the design of my project and were used as a helpful tool during the design process. Moving forward, I will include them in my portfolio to demonstrate my skills to future employers.'
