Priority Australia Awards study areas

The Australia Awards support students through key study areas relevant to the social, economic, environmental, and political development of students’ home countries.

To find a QUT course that’s eligible for the Australia Awards scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. View the list of participating countries on the Australia Awards website.
  2. Select your home country.
  3. Download the information publication for your country and view the priority fields of study.
  4. Browse our range of QUT courses that match the identified priorities.

How to apply

Check the Australia Awards list of participating countries and download your country profile to find information specific to your home country, including eligibility requirements, key dates, application information and priority study areas.

Submit your application for an Australia Awards Scholarship. Your application will be assessed, and if you are shortlisted, you may be interviewed by the Australia Awards sponsor. If you are successful, they will request your placement in a QUT course.

You’ll need an offer letter from QUT to complete your scholarship acceptance. You’ll also need to apply for a student visa.

QUT and the Australia Awards office will help with your transition to Australia and ensure you’re prepared and supported through your studies.

After studying in Australia, you’ll need to return to your home country for at least two years. You’ll be part of the QUT alumni community and can also help promote the Australia Awards to people in your country.
