Why do exchange at QUT
We live in a globalised world, and for me, having an international background has always been a top priority to help me become a true global citizen. Doing an exchange year in Australia allowed me to keep connecting and collaborating with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. This experience not only broadened my worldview but also further developed the skills and adaptability needed to thrive in an international environment, both personally and professionally.
Choosing to pursue a master degree is a significant moment, as it marks the shift from student life to stepping into the professional world. Knowing the challenges that come with this transition, I wanted to finish my studies in a place that would not only teach me valuable theory but also further help me smoothly move into the workforce. QUT, known for its focus on real-world learning, felt like the perfect fit to help me bridge that gap and prepare for what’s next in my career.
My favourite part of studying at QUT
I have a background in marketing, including a bachelor degree and a minor in the field, but the courses I took at QUT were entirely new to me They were advanced, specialised, and aligned with the latest industry trends, making the learning experience both challenging and exciting. One of my favourite aspects of studying at QUT was the flexibility it offered..
The state-of-the-art facilities enabled me to tailor my learning experience. Classes took place in modern, well-designed rooms and the university’s flexibility allowed me to adapt my studies to my personal schedule, ensuring I maximised my learning opportunities
Student support
One thing that pleasantly surprised me about my course at QUT is the strong relationship you build with your lecturers and tutors. There’s a sense of freedom, respect, and support that makes a real difference in the learning experience. They're always available to clarify any doubts you have about assignments or theory and are genuinely invested in guiding you along your career path. For anyone considering studying at QUT, knowing how approachable and supportive the faculty is can be a real game-changer.
Real world experience
One key difference between QUT and my home university is the more practical approach QUT offers. It places a stronger emphasis on preparing students for the professional world by encouraging the application of theory to real-world scenarios. This hands-on learning experience, combined with my real-world work experience, has strengthened my ability to apply academic concepts to practical skills.
Studying in Brisbane
I chose to study in Brisbane because it’s a vibrant city that has so much to offer without the overwhelming atmosphere that can come from places like Sydney and Melbourne. What I love most about Brisbane is its passion for art and music; you can find artists on every street, creating a lively atmosphere. The weekend markets are a fantastic way to spend time with friends while exploring local shops and enjoying fresh international food. My favourite place to relax is South Bank; it feels like a holiday getaway, providing a perfect escape from university assignments
Exploring Australia
I had the chance to take day trips to the Gold Coast and Tamborine Mountain, and I’ve also visited Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Uluru, the Whitsundays, and Adelaide. Each of these places offered unique experiences and stunning landscapes, making my time in Australia even more enriching.
