Architecture at QUT
Studying QUT’s Master of Architecture has expanded my knowledge and sharpened my skills in the field of architectural design, an area which I am deeply passionate about.
I definitely recommend QUT to others. It is a great university with a wide range of courses, excellent facilities, and a strong focus on research. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the campus is well maintained and beautiful.
Highlights of my course
I really enjoy the productive learning environment that I experienced in class where I have developed a variety of skills, including those related to systems, organisations and culture. The support provided by faculty, lecturers, peers and unit coordinators left a lasting impression on me.
Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) as a part of my course has provided me with the opportunity to experience high-quality facilities both in and out of the classroom. It has allowed me to forge connections which has had an advantageous effect on both my mental wellbeing and educational development.
QUT offers a range of support depending on the type of help you need. It’s easily found by searching on the website. For example, there are lecture recordings, academic skills advice, and a writing and referencing guide for academic help. There is also a student health and wellbeing service offering confidential counselling and also a student hub or HiQ that can provide help with enrolment, exam timetables, and other administrative matters.
My plans for employment
QUT's vision to become 'The university for the real world' is reflected in the job opportunities and connections available to students upon graduation.
My plan after graduating is to attain a registration as an architect in Australia. This will provide me with a wider range of employment options and experiences.
International Merit Scholarship
I received the International Merit Scholarship, a scholarship that covers 25% of tuition fees for the first two semesters of study. The scholarship has been beneficial in allowing me to focus on my studies, enabling me to achieve and maintain a high level of academic performance. This has placed me in a favourable position which will likely benefit me in the future, providing potential opportunities for work positions and connections, as well as networking with experts in the field.
The ideal study destination
QUT is also located in an ideal area; the campus is situated in the centre of Brisbane, with easy access to public transport, and is close to the river and park, which provides an ideal learning environment.
The city of Brisbane is a great place to live and study, with plenty of things to do both on and off campus. Brisbane has the best weather and heaps of outdoor activities around.
