Clubs and societies

Joining a student club is a great way to meet like-minded students and build lifelong friendships. We've got more than 100 student clubs for recreation, music, sport, social justice and more, including clubs and societies connected to your course or study area.

You can find and join student clubs and societies at Welcome Week, and as a student you can also start your own club or society.

Hobbies and interests

From bubble tea to rock climbing, karaoke to esports, there's a community for everyone. Make friends, attend events and explore Brisbane with the QUT Guild's range of student clubs and societies including:

  • sports and outdoor activities
  • arts and performance
  • crafts and hobbies
  • politics and debating
  • volunteering.

Clubs for your study area

Clubs and societies specific to your study area can build your professional network, portfolio and industry experience alongside your social circle.

By taking on an executive role in a student club, you can demonstrate your leadership skills to future employers.

With clubs such as QUT Robotics Club, QUT Women in Business and QUT Podiatry Association, you'll find a student community that can connect you to your industry.

Cultural and international clubs

We know that moving to another country is a big challenge. Cultural and international clubs can help you maintain your connection to home while in a new city.

You can meet friends from your home region, attend cultural events and represent your country or region within the wider QUT community at events such as Welcome Week and Harmony Day.

We also have religious clubs for students of different faiths.

Life on campus

Our two vibrant city campuses at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove are home to cafes and dining venues, study spaces, sports facilities and entertainment venues such as bars, theatres, performance spaces and our art museum.

As a new QUT student, Welcome Week is a great opportunity to meet new people, explore student clubs and get to know our campuses.

During the semester, there are weekly coffee catch ups, live music, market days, cooking classes, and more. Look out for annual flagship events like the QUT Classic fun run, Dragon Boat Regatta and festivals held on campus throughout the year.

We offer activities for international students, including weekend trips, cultural celebrations, regular social activities, and language, study and support opportunities.
