The QUT Sports Technology Outreach Program is an immersive experience in sports technology applications. The workshops are delivered from the Sports Tech Van, typically in rotational sessions lasting around 50 minutes.
The van’s design is dynamic offering flexible but structured activities that are aligned with the Australian Curriculum's Core Capabilities and subject content for Years 7-10, as well as the QLD Senior Syllabus for Years 11-12. During these sessions, students are encouraged to explore diverse career paths, courses, and opportunities beyond Year 12.
The Sports Tech Van is funded through the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP). Schools with an ICSEA of 1000 or below, or those located outside of the Brisbane Metropolitan area, can access a visit from the van free of charge.
Visit requirements and details:
- The van needs a flat surface to park on.
- It comes with its own power and internet capabilities.
- The session can be set up on the sports oval or on an outdoor or indoor court/hall.
- Our preference is to attend the school or community event for a whole day, allowing us to cater to multiple classes or sports teams through a rotation style.
- The ideal group size is 25 participants. We have enough technology to cater for multiple classes simultaneously up to 3 groups.
