Deanna Hood
Deanna is one of the core engineers who worked on the robotics software ROS 2, which will be used on NASA’s VIPER mission to the moon. Deanna has used the same software to pioneer the CoWriter robotic partner, which helps children with handwriting difficulties.

Bede Jordan
Bede Jordan founded technology platform, Shelf Engine, to reduce food waste and its impact on climate change. QUT connected Bede to Microsoft which is where he landed his first job as Principal Software Engineering Lead.
Chloe Turrell
Chloe works to integrate a wearable hydration sensor device with the skin for preventative measures in fields where dehydration can be a silent killer.

Brody Clarke
Brody is the youngest known person to acquire both a PhD and chartership in the civil engineering field in Australia and has presented his research internationally.
'My goal is to try and incorporate as much of the sustainable outcomes from my PhD research – looking at recycled materials in pavements – as I can into real-world large infrastructure projects.'
Dr Tatheer Zahra
Have you ever thought about how a building could be made more resilient in natural disasters? QUT senior lecturer and researcher Dr Tatheer Zahra is pioneering new solutions to protect buildings from earthquakes, storms, explosions and collisions with energy-absorbing shock protection materials. Her vision is to promote innovative and sustainable engineering materials at every stage of construction.
Linda Hapgood
