Chloe Turrell
Chloe works to integrate a wearable hydration sensor device with the skin for preventative measures in fields where dehydration can be a silent killer.
'I’m excited to utilise this achievement to put a spotlight on the incredible innovation being made in the biomedical engineering field, and to continue to advocate for diversity and careers in STEM, especially in rural areas.'
Dr Tatheer Zahra
Have you ever thought about how a building could be made more resilient in natural disasters? QUT senior lecturer and researcher Dr Tatheer Zahra is pioneering new solutions to protect buildings from earthquakes, storms, explosions and collisions with energy-absorbing shock protection materials. Her vision is to promote innovative and sustainable engineering materials at every stage of construction.
Deanna Hood
Deanna is one of the core engineers who worked on the robotics software ROS 2, which will be used on NASA’s VIPER mission to the moon. Deanna has used the same software to pioneer the CoWriter robotic partner, which helps children with handwriting difficulties.
'You don’t have to be a doctor, occupational therapist or teacher to help people; I’ve worked with all of them as a roboticist.'
Dr Dimity Miller
Dr Dimity Miller is a chief investigator with the QUT Centre for Robotics and a lecturer with the QUT School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics. Her research expertise is at the intersection of deep learning, computer vision, and robotics, with a focus on creating reliably robotic vision systems. She is passionate about understanding and mitigating failures in deep learning models for robotics applications.
Linda Hapgood
Linda explains her international career in the aviation industry leading sustainability projects which are transforming the industry, and how she got her first job at Boeing through QUT.
