What sets us apart

Real-world experience

'I participated in the Cherbourg-QUT project to assist the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council with their development of a youth council. This project involved cultural immersion in the Cherbourg community. This increased my cultural awareness, something I believe is a vital for any professional. The community lawyering that was undertaken through this project also broadened my perspective of what it meant to be a lawyer and the options that are available after graduation.'

Joanna Bielby

Innovative teaching

'QUT's law degrees are future-focused and prepare students to enter the modern world of law confidently. They offer a diverse range of elective units that delve into emerging technologies and address current challenges in the legal industry. I have taken several units from their new law, technology, and innovation minor and found them to be perfect for developing skills that are unique to students graduating at this time. For instance, in my Artificial Intelligence, Robots and the Law unit, I had the opportunity to prepare a law reform submission on the use of facial recognition technology in the retail sector. It's these up-and-coming legal challenges that I have really enjoyed engaging with because they require me to come up with innovative solutions.'

Ethan Kumar

Real-world lecturers

At QUT, you'll learn directly from award-winning professors like Ben White and Lindy Willmott. These professors are not only experts in their respective fields, but they are also making a significant impact in the real world.

Through their extensive research spanning over twenty years, they have explored the critical subject of voluntary assisted dying, examining its legal, ethical, and practical implications. Their work has even influenced laws in Australia.

When they teach, they're not just sharing theories - they're imparting insights from their practical experience. This means you'll grasp how the law functions in the real world and how it can truly make an impact.

A new beginning for end of life law
