This engineering core unit introduces fundamental concepts of dynamics & vibration of machines in an engineering context. You will develop the ability to recognise and apply the developed theories and formulas to solve fundamental engineering problems involving position, velocity, acceleration and force and to solve more complex problems involving nonlinear equation of motion, free body diagram as an introduction to predicting the vibration behaviours of engineering systems. You will undertake laboratory work in groups to plan and conduct experiments to predict and analyze the behavior of physical systems and apply this theoretical dynamics knowledge into practice to design walkable robots.
