In this unit, you will be introduced to the theory and techniques that underpin dynamic systems analysis and control system engineering, including: transfer function representations, stability, steady-state behaviour, and frequency response. You will then use these techniques to design controllers to achieve certain transient and steady-state performance criteria. Together, these concepts and analysis tools will provide you with a solid foundation to develop real-world controllers, including the ubiquitous proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. In this capstone unit, you will draw on the earlier dynamics units EGB321 Dynamics of Machines, and EGB211 Dynamics. An embedded mathematics module, constituting 20% of the unit, provides advanced methods that support student learning in the engineering context.","title-full":"EGH421 Vibration and Control","title-short":"Vibration and Control","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=EGH421&year=2025","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=EGH421","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=EGH421"},"year":2025,"years":[2024,2025]}
