Information systems and enterprises are becoming inextricably interwoven. It has become nearly impossible to talk meaningfully about enterprises that are not dependent on information systems of one type or another.  An important role of managers is to understand what type of information system they should use to achieve the business strategic objectives or to improve existing business capabilities.
