It explores how corporate citizenship requires a company to respond to a set of inter-related expectations arising at the individual, national and global levels. Students will extend their understanding of ethics developed in foundational units by reflecting on their personal approaches to ethical dilemmas. At the national level, the unit explores core principles of the legal framework within which corporations operate, including key rights and responsibilities. From a global view, students will explore different perspectives on corporate social responsibility and grapple with the difficulty of balancing conflicting expectations of stakeholders through application of the UN sustainability development goals.
