Biomechanical systems exhibit substantial non-linearity due to complex geometries, materials and interactions. Medical engineering professionals use modelling and simulation techniques in the design of biomechanical systems. This unit advances modelling and simulation techniques through their applications in Biomedical Engineering. This advanced unit will develop your knowledge and skills in analysing biomechanical components and systems in the course of medical device development. The unit focuses on modelling and simulation techniques using industry standard software. It applies content introduced in EGH418 Biomechanics, builds upon the finite element capabilities introduced in EGH414 Stress Analysis and adds quantitative analysis tools to the medical device design process commenced in EGB319 BioDesign.","title-full":"EGH435 Modelling and Simulation for Medical Engineers","title-short":"Modelling and Simulation for Medical Engineers","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=EGH435&year=2025","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=EGH435","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=EGH435"},"year":2025,"years":[2024,2025]}
