The unit provides opportunities for practical exploration of these art forms and theories, and introduces arts pedagogies that emphasise the role of the arts in society and in the education and care of children from birth to 12 years of age. The arts play an important part in early childhood and primary education with the potential to inspire children to reach their creative potential, and to enrich their experiences in prior-to-school and primary school contexts.
