Justice studies and criminology are multidisciplinary enterprises with a longstanding interest in cultural and social responses to crime. A critical account of how criminality and justice are represented in popular culture will provide a better understanding of how cultural genres shape mainstream attitudes and responses to crime, including shifting political and policy responses. This unit provides a comprehensive introduction to research and issues in the field that students will be able to apply in many areas of practice, including the analysis of media responses to crime.","title-full":"JSB287 Crime in Popular Culture","title-short":"Crime in Popular Culture","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=JSB287&year=2025","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=JSB287","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=JSB287"},"year":2025,"years":[2025]}
