KDB319 Dance Project

Dance Project is a research-based unit in which you will design and conduct a research project on a topic you propose that is relevant to the dance professional you seek to be. You will present your project findings within an essay and accompanying creative work/s or portfolio. Thorough research will be required to contextualise, critically discuss and situate your project in relation to current debates, emergent developments and perspectives in dance scholarship and related fields. Your project may include live performance, film, installation, dance scores, choreographic objects, workshop outlines, class materials, case studies, reviews or any other relevant practical application for your chosen topic. Dance Project offers you the opportunity to pursue your specific interest, drawing on your learning to date and extending your creative and cognitive skills in synthesising and evaluating information, practical research, project management and research design.

Assumed knowledge: A level of physical condition appropriate to the unit content and to safe dance practices is required.
