It foregrounds art thinking, speculative inquiry and combinatory play with the material, conceptual and contextual dimensions of creative practice in order to nurture an expanded and nuanced level of creative literacy and intelligence. The open-ended conditions of current creative practices, their processes, reception, and contribution to society, are extremely diverse, increasingly complex, and inherently multi-layered. The Open Studio model provides a unique and ideally suited position from which to understand these factors and develop a relevant creative skillset.
