This unit will serve as the transition from high school mathematics to university, particularly if you have not studied Queensland Specialist Mathematics (formerly called Senior Mathematics C) or equivalent. You will learn about elementary functions, their derivatives and integrals, the algebra of complex numbers, and vectors and matrices. Mathematical techniques and problem solving skills are employed in a range of mathematical exercises and contextualised problems, illustrating how these concepts and techniques are used in engineering systems. In future units you will continue to apply the mathematical knowledge and skills you have learned in this unit to increasingly complex problems.","title-full":"MZB125 Introductory Engineering Mathematics","title-short":"Introductory Engineering Mathematics","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=MZB125&year=2025","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=MZB125","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=MZB125"},"year":2025,"years":[2024,2025]}
