The health and support needs of those who are dying are diverse and often change over time. To respond effectively to these needs, health care professionals must have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide a person-centred approach to care at end of life. In this unit, students will extend their knowledge of the needs of older people and their families as they reach end of life and understand how to adopt a palliative approach in supporting the person as they near death. The unit will also advance students’ understanding of the services and interprofessional aoproaches to implementing care plans that optimise quality of life throughout the disease trajectory.","title-full":"NSQ637 Palliative and End of Life Care","title-short":"Palliative and End of Life Care","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=NSQ637&year=2024","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=NSQ637","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=NSQ637"},"year":2024,"years":[2024]}
