Skills in interpretation and application of legislation, a thorough understanding of environmental health legislation and the prosecution process is vitally important to the practice of an environmental health professional. These legal frameworks have been developed over many years and aim to protect the health of the community. These frameworks encompass scientific principles for the protection of the public's health, but respond to emerging public issues and perspectives.
