As approximately one third of a person's life is spent at work, it is not surprising to note that occupation-linked diseases, injuries, and deaths are receiving greater attention. It is no longer accepted that death, life-shortening, and disablement are an acceptable risk to be faced by working people. This unit focuses on the current and emerging agents in the workplace capable of adversely affecting the health of workers, as well as human response to toxic and imperilling environments. Occupational Health covers identification, prevention and management of risks to health in the workplace, the disease process, occupational rehabilitation and health & wellbeing surveillance, psychosocial health, and management in the workplace.","title-full":"PUP415 Occupational Health","title-short":"Occupational Health","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=PUP415&year=2025","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=PUP415","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=PUP415"},"year":2025,"years":[2025]}
