'I chose the architecture/construction double degree because I wanted a well-rounded understanding of both design and delivery in the built environment. Having insight into both fields allows me to bridge the gap between concept and construction, ensuring that projects are both innovative and practical. This combination equips me with the skills to approach problem-solving from multiple perspectives, making me more adaptable in the industry.'

Thanks to QUT, I was able to secure a job in industry by participating in a university networking event and I have heard many fellow students have had the same experience.’

When Nicole and Hayley were paired together in a group assignment at QUT, they discovered a shared work ethic and passion for starting their own business. Four years later, they founded Belnic – a construction business specialising in commercial interior fit outs. The pair are leaders in this space and seek to be role models for other young women looking to give business ownership in the construction industry a go.

'I am undertaking a full-time quantity surveying cadetship at Rider Levett Bucknall while studying. I have applied the knowledge gained from my QUT course and further enhanced my skills through daily exposure to real projects. I have valued the opportunity to connect with professionals who generously provide both personal and professional advice. QUT facilitated connections with my peers and professors before starting, and I now collaborate and maintain working relationships with many of these connections within the industry.'
