Graduate with deep knowledge and experience in your chosen major, equipping you as a professional in your chosen discipline. You can study accounting, advertising, economics, finance, financial planning, human resource management, international business, management, marketing, or public relations.
Graduates of the business and communication double degree can find careers as media or entertainment producers, public relations consultants or international business specialists.
Bachelor of Communication (Digital Advertising)
Digital platforms have revolutionised advertising. There is more ability to create content tailor-made for certain demographics, facilitate ever-higher engagement with consumers, and improve measurement techniques. Brands need someone who understands how to optimise impactful messages for digital environments.
This major combines creativity, strategic thinking, and problem solving to teach you how to leverage consumer insights, design effective campaigns, and measure results. There is a particular emphasis through the School of Communication on fundamental communication skills, social media management, and digital analytics.
After entering the Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Communication, you'll start by studying a range of fundamental skills that blend cutting-edge technologies with proven communication techniques you can take into any industry. Later in your double degree, you'll be able to choose the major that best suits your dream career

In order to complete this course, you must complete a total of 384 credit points comprising 180 credit points from the Bachelor of Business, 180 credit points from the Bachelor of Communication, and 24 credit points of QUT You. You will undertake both degree components concurrently.
Business component: You must complete the 84 credit point Business core units together with a 96 credit point Business major. You will choose a major from Accounting, Advertising, Behavioural Economics, Economics, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing or Public Relations.
Communication component:
- Six core units - 72 credit points
- A Communication major - 96 credit points
- One Communication Unit Option - 12 credit points

Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. If you don't have the subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge:

And for Accountancy, Behavioural Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Economics, and Marketing majors: General Mathematics, or Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C).
