By combining advanced creative and technical skills with highly developed business knowledge, you can take your creative practice to the next level.

The mixture of business and creative arts majors will enhance your employability in your chosen profession, whether it be combining advertising or marketing with music to promote yourself as an artist, or integrating visual arts with entrepreneurship or management to start your own gallery or manage a community project. You could choose animation or film and screen, with international business if your dream is to work in these fields overseas. There is so many opportunities through this double degree to combine your passions to shape your desired future.

You will build your creative practice in one of the creative arts majors:

You will also choose a business major from:

The business major will equip you as a professional in your chosen area and improve your career opportunities.

Real-world learning

Your creative art course prepares you to engage in the real world as a creative practitioner. It will give you the knowledge to navigate complex and unfamiliar systems and the insight to create meaningful work that is a positive force for change in the broader community.

You will learn the importance of cultural diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, in increasingly globalised creative fields.

Studies on industry workflows, tools, processes, and skills will equip you with a strong understanding of current industry practices—from concept development to timelines and finished works.

This practical, hands-on approach to learning continues in your business degree, starting from your very first semester, you’ll engage in real-world learning experiences with QUT Business School and our industry and community partners. You’ll develop skills, gain valuable experience and build confidence throughout your course, preparing you for a successful transition into your professional career. You will also complete the business Real World Ready capstone unit, where you’ll work individually and as part of a team to present analyses and recommendations to an industry or community partner.

Throughout the course, you can work on real-world projects and develop an individual practice. Gain experience through internships and work placements, and tailor your learning to the part of the industry most interesting to you.
