What to expect

This course is the first and only of its kind in Australia. You’ll cover the fundamentals of esports, including the practical and theoretical realms of esports, the impact of physical and mental health in the industry, esports pro-athlete attitudes and values, esports business strategies and a range of digital technologies. You’ll also choose to specialise in business, creative industries/communication or IT.

You’ll receive credit points of advanced standing into bachelor degree study at QUT in business, creative industries, communication, games or information technology.

As a diploma student, you'll learn in a supportive environment that will prepare you for future academic success. You'll be part of a community with opportunities to make friends and network, and benefit from:

With the Diploma in Esports you can kick start your career in esports team management, esports coaching and support, video game conceptualisation and development, marketing and consumerism, social media content creation and streaming, data analysis, event management or talent management.

To achieve maximum credit (with your diploma grades) for your diploma and matching degree, you must complete a full creative industries/communication, information technology or business pathway.

To meet the course requirements of the Diploma in Esports, you must complete:

  • Core units (96 credit points) including four esports units (48 credit points) and four units from either Business, or Creative Industries/Communication or Information Technology.
