An Exchange Year is an excellent opportunity to see more of the world, experience new cultures and develop personally, academically and professionally. The Exchange Year is open to students currently studying with a QUT exchange partner institution.

- English language requirements, if English is not your first language.
Academic requirements
You must:
be nominated by one of our partner institutions
- have completed at least 1 year of full-time study
- have a minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 on a 4-point scale, or equivalent.
Partner institutions
We have partner institutions all over the world. Check if your university is one of our partner institutions.
If you do not attend one of our partner institutions, you can still come to QUT with our Study Abroad program.
English language proficiency requirements
We accept scores from:
- TOEFL (Internet-based)
- IELTS (Academic)
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)
- Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)
Don't meet our English language proficiency requirements?
If you meet the academic entry requirements but not the English language requirements, you may still be able to participate in Study Abroad by completing an English language subject.
